Terms of use

Draft, last updated 13 October 2026

These are the rules for using SomnuMatrix: the dream journal, the dreams you walk through, and Somnucor, the city shared with other players. By making an account or playing, you agree to them. Our privacy page says what we keep about you.

Ages

• 13 and over. You must be at least 13 to make an account or to enter Somnucor and its chat. We ask for your date of birth once, when you make an account or first sign in. If you are under 13, we do not make an account, and an existing account that gives a date under 13 is kept out of Somnucor and its chat. The dream journal on your own device needs no account and stays open to everyone.
• 18 and over for real money and the casino. Buying or selling gold for real money, and the Hidden Crescent casino (buying chips, playing and cashing out), are only for players aged 18 or over. If we don't know your age, we treat you as under 18.
• If you are under the age of adulthood where you live, a parent or guardian should agree to these terms for you.
• Give your real date of birth. Only the city's keeper can change it after you have given it. We may close an account that gave a false one.

Your account

• Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
• One person per account. Don't sell, share or trade accounts.
• Don't use scripts, bots or tricks to play for you, farm gold, or get around the game's limits or its moderation.

Gold, purchases and the casino

• Gold is part of the game. It isn't money, it earns no interest, and it has no value outside SomnuMatrix except where the game itself offers to buy it back.
• Where buying or selling gold for real money is offered, it is for players 18 and over, at the rates shown at the time, and each sale back is checked by hand before any money is sent. We may refuse or reverse an exchange that breaks these terms, comes from a cheat or an account that isn't yours, or that the law doesn't allow where you are.
• The Hidden Crescent is for players 18 and over. Chips are bought with game gold. Play for fun: you can lose the gold you change into chips.
• Purchases (SomnuMatrix itself, plans and gold) are handled by our payment provider. Refunds follow the law where you live and what is said at checkout.

How to behave

Somnucor is shared with real people. In chat, phone messages, names, published dreams, shops and anything else others can see:

• No hate or harassment: nothing that attacks people for their race, ethnicity, religion, sex, gender, sexuality, disability or where they come from.
• No threats, bullying, or encouraging anyone to hurt themselves or others.
• No sexual content involving anyone under 18, ever, and no sexual messages to other players who haven't asked for them.
• No sharing anybody's personal details (an address, a phone number, where they go to school), your own included.
• No scams, spam, or links to harmful sites. Don't pretend to be the keeper, a moderator or another player.
• Don't publish things you don't have the right to share.

Moderation

• Banned words are starred out in chat, phone messages and names. Links and email addresses are starred out for most players.
• Anyone can report a chat line or a phone message sent to them. A reported line goes to the moderators: the keeper, officers of the Corp and the court, and players the keeper names. Three reports hide a chat line at once until a moderator looks at it. Moderators can read what was reported, so that they can act on it.
• Moderators can remove lines and mute a player for a while or until they lift it. You can also block a player, which stops their messages and friend asks and hides their chat from you.
• For serious or repeated breaches, we may close an account. Where the law requires it, we report harm or danger to a child to the authorities.

What you make

Your dreams are yours. If you publish one through a door in the Hall of Doors, or put words, names or shops where others can see them, you let us show them in the game for as long as they are up. You can take them down at any time.

Deleting your account

Open Settings, then Your account, then "Delete my account", and type DELETE to confirm. At once your name becomes "Former dreamer" and your place in the city, your chat lines, your friends and blocks, your saved vault copy and anything you published are removed. The keeper then removes the account itself for good. Purchase records are kept without your account attached, because tax law requires it. See the privacy page for more.

Changes and ending

• SomnuMatrix is a game in progress. Features, rates and rules may change; we will say so in the game when it matters.
• You can stop using SomnuMatrix at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
• SomnuMatrix is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for losses of game gold or items, or for what other players say or do.
